Default back firing on skyline & other high end cars

hey everyone i recently watch a drift video of skylines one in particular was back firing like mad i'm not sure if its the non-combusted fuel that excapes through the header & out the exhaust can any body tell me some possible explanations......
i don't want an explanation for why the car in fast furious has it too......thats for all the smart ***....

you sure it wasn't the rev limiter? most turbo cars do backfire when you hit the rev limiter

maybe it wasnt so much a drift video, but they were street tuning that car to be on the fast and the furious 2? j/k turbocharged cars run sooo much fuel that when they are revved up high and coasting ( high rpm, no gas, no clutch), that fuel is being dumped, but not a lot of air, so it backfires the rich catalyst.

there you have it, its just unburned fuel blowing out the back, hence the backfire meng...

In Japan some guys put an extra injector at the tail pipe to flame whoever try to follow them too close.
A good show thing though
