They are NOT interchangable. Type SH has a different suspension in the front.

The strut assemblies ARE interchangeable. You just can't mix/match springs & shocks between the two.

The SH model has a slightly longer spring, and a slightly lower spring perch to make up for it. My guess is the SH uses a slightly stiffer spring rate to account for the weight of the ATTS system.

SH spring on the left, base spring on the right:

SH shock on the left, base shock in the center, AGX on the right:

Accpording to the Honda Parts lists they front suspensions are NOT in any way interchangeable as to shocks and springs. In fact, each side is different. Further, there are other pieces that do not interchange. You cannot use BASE components either.
For everyones info-the rear suspensions of Base and SH are identical.
Will the install mess anything up-I would think that it is NOT to be attempted. (If you happen to have a need for a complete set of stock BASE springs/shocks ready to go-I have them.)

ok...as long as we have some people who know about this, i will be attempting to put a base engine/tranny into my SH. Will the transaxles on the base swap fit into the SH hubs without an issue?

thanks-

Good luck with the project. There are a lot of parts you will have to swap to do it. The computers are different and unless my eyes deceive me so are the half shafts-you will be taking the ATTS out.

don't forget the SH's caster is around 4 degrees, whereas the base is 2 degrees (I guess it helps with the ATTS).. doesn't make too much of a difference but might be another reason for the different sized components.. to keep the same ground clearance between the two, the SH's will be longer due to the degree difference.. not much though... ok i'm just rambling.. lol

i dont care about the computers since i will be using a p72 with a hondata unit.
will the base tranny and base half shafts line up with the sh hubs? i think the ends are the same and should go in. are the wheel bases the same distance? if the caster is a bit different will a caster kit on the sh suspension fix that kind of a difference?
