OT: Do you drive your not so legal car the an event and back?
Well as a person whos daily driver would suck at towing (99 exploder sport v6) (have a 74 351w bronco that gets 8mpg

I wouldnt recommend it. Pretty swift action can be taken if your driving an unlicensed and registered, blahb blah vechile. I'm pretty sure you will be towed on the spot...
tow it..
tow it..
my car is legally licenced but officer friendly might not agree!!
don't drive an unregister/unlicenced car on the street...you will get owned!

non-titled likely means non-insured. That will get you in trouble faster than anything.
Can you imagine what kind of trouble you'd get in if you had a wreck? - regardless of fault. My car isn't street legal, not inspected, but it is titled and insured.

Point well taken. I overlooked the insurance part of the whole situation. Back to studying for my last exam, then I can allocate some time to getting the car near trackworthy status. Thanks for your prompt replys to my dumb question. Now to keep an eye out for a used trailer.

I live in California and have access to a "DLR" plate, which is a Dealer plate. transferable between anything from trailers to trucks to cars. I use that to drive non title cars around just fine.
HMmm.... wondering if I could slap that baby on an F1 car and drive that on the streets? I think officer friendly would love to see/hear something like that fly by the police station.

...and the next strand will be titled "Penalty for misuse of a CA dlr plate?"

Edit - on a similar note, since moving to VA I have seen pickups on the road without ANY plates, with "Farm Use" spray painted on the tailgate. What's up with that? Can I have a "farm use" IT car? If not then probably a rally car, right?

A farm use rally car would make more sense...
Johnny: "Ma, wus Pa doin' out in the field with that old rally car?
Ma: "What?! I told Pierre he better till the field before it rains - But he better not be using his rally car to do it again! We can't afford to keep on buying them rally tires. I never should have married a European farmboy...especially a crazy French one with brothers who are rally racecar drivers.
Pierre (in his "farm use" rally car): "Oui,oui...this iz much more fun than some silly old trac-tour. Now I know why my brothearz love a rallying so so much. Now if I can juz' fit a seed hopp`ier in the rear, I would b`eez able to be a seeding so much fast`eir! Weeee!"
FYI, "farm use" means you basically don't pay taxes on it and your insurance is dirt cheap... however it's supposed to be for "farm use only", meaning you're not supposed to use it for work, school, or other transportation. You usually have "farm use" liscense plates though...states probably all differ on their "farm use" regulations too.

Drive an illegally modified car to/from events, but don't drive an unlicensed, untitled, uninsured car...that will cost you more than a little bit if anything happens.
...the local exotic service shop here in San Diego, symbolic motors, has thrown on DLR plates on F1 cars they were servicing/repairing and had a couple motorcycle cops as a captive audience. The officers had no problems with them taking the cars up and down, as long as they obeyed the traffic laws. Same has been done to 'road test' various other race cars, and cars of dubious legality.
See! I knew it!
yeah, I'm gonna obey traffic laws while driving an F1 car.
