anyone have a link where i can find a curb weight for the del sol with dohc??
My notes have the "S" at 2277# and the VTEC at 2491# - I use cars.com used car specifications and performance listings. Go to kbb.com and "buy a used car". Select cars.com and then enter the car you are looking for. When you get your list, select one and look for a link that says "get more information" or something similar...

Edit - SCCA IT weights for the same cars are 2140# (S in ITA) and 2360# (VTEC in ITS). The latter has one of the best potential power-to-weight ratios in the class. What do you want to know? Variance from the theoretical IT "formula weight"? Difference between stock and IT? Corrected for stock power? I got all kinds of math...

actually im in canada, and im running the dohc del sol in whats called improved production up here, its IP3, which is anything lower than 1750cc, but i will be running in washington state, and portland, so i dont know what the rules call for my car, but ill figure it out over the next year of racing. over here were allowed minus of 100 pounds of the factory curb weight, which includes the driver, so that means i can get the honda down to under 2200 pounds if the listed weight is 2422pounds.
i didnt know that it had one of the best power to weight ratios?? now you got me thinking, how many classes can i run this lil girly car in??

whos roger, and why does he think it can break records? in iTS that is. is it all in the power to weight?
Sounds like you are dealing with the ICSCC ("Conference") rules. You will want to be VERY sure which class you want to run before you commit any $$ to the effort - Conference has even more classes than SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), which isn't necessarily a good thing - 52 by my count at http://www.icscc.com/classes.html
Try to keep up here - it gets ugly.
The "Conference Production" rules are similar to the SCCA Improved Touring (IT)category but not exactly the same. The "Improved Production" classes in Conference are similar to the SCCA Production category - lots more open and expensive. Conference started recognizing the IT category about 15 years ago, with the rules crossing over directly.
You probably do NOT want to run your DS in Improved Production to start out - WAY too much money, not a lot of entries, and you won't be able to run (or sell) it anywhere outside of Conference. Conference Production would make more sense - more entrants (last I saw) and manageable modifications for a first race car. However, you WILL have a car that you can run in NW and ORE region SCCA in their "CP" classes but you won't be able to take it elsewhere in the US or sell it on the much larger IT market.
I would suggest that you look closely at building your ride to IT specs - universally recognized and you can run it in Conference and pretty much anywhere else. More opinions are at http://www.it2.evaluand.com/recipe.php if you are interested.

Disclaimer - I don't know much about the Canadian clubs in Conference. They may have very different ideas about classes. I also might be completely wrong in my interpretation of your intent to run in Washington and Oregon. I just don't know of anywhere outside of Conference that this is likely to be the case. Have fun!

Slightly OT... I just looked up the DelSol solo2 classifications and according to the moutons site, all DelSols are listed on the same line in DSP... So the base S-stripper model could updated/backdated with the B16 motor and still come in under 2400lbs... Anyone can confirm if that moutons DSP listing is correct?
