ek cupholders are pretty bad also. I dont see why honda can engineer such a great, reliable car and not be able to build a cupholder that holds anything around a turn or during acceleration. Oh well, I guess that is why it isn't a BMW or something.

I would not even try to put that in your car...the 92-95 civic ones are better than those....my advice would be to just get the center console so there are not cupholders anymore....i guess its time for some drink trays...

EK cup holders suck ***. 20+ Ounce drinks always move around and sometimes spill. I usually just put the drink inside my armrest.

to answer your original question, no its not a bolt in at all.. it doesnt fit perfect and there will be a space that wont look good keep the eg cupholders and put inbetween the ebrake and seat like i and everyone else does

its nice if you have one of those 1 liter water bottles.. the cap fits snug under the dash part =P .. but yeah one time I HAD some large In n out drinks in there.. had to bust a U.. guess what they went flying to the door I still have soda residue in some places .. I like my bros VW cup holders they have like a retractable arm on it that grips the drink.. **** he can do like 4 360s and it wouldn't move

LOL! i had the same thing happen in my '00 Si! I had JUST GOTTEN IT, and went to McD's got some sodas, banged a u-turn, and BOOM! Large coke was now filling my shift boot up.

Its funny... i can have a SUPER BIG GULP in my girl's '01 jetta, and launch the car off the line as hard as i can, then yank the ebrake, blowin multiple donuts, and the drink wont budge...

there is a platform piece that can be made to have it fit. you use wood or plastic and whatever and paint it black or cover it with fabric

You gotta give Volkswagen props for those cupholders!!

I have a friend who has them, and seriously, they hold the biggest cups, and they just grab on to those cups and don't let go. I'm always afraid of them because the cup holder is so high in a Jetta and if the drink were to fall, it would be a huge mess. But they never fall..

VW Cupholders
Sticking the drink between the ebrake and the seat

Personally I stick my drinks in between my door panel and my eg6 seats. It holds almost any cup perfectly, I just rest it on the handle to pull the seat forward.

Don't believe what you read on EBAY the audio consoles are still available from the dealer. Most people on Ebay claim that they were only available in Japan.
Here are the part #'s

im only 300 bux short of gettin the parts i want!! now at least i know they still exist at a honda dealership. I have the EK console sittin in my garage, i have only test fitted it and its not a bolt in affair, but the seats do hold it in quite well. I still think im gonna stick to the parts made for my car, so if any one wants my console its for sell.
