Default home made turbo

I havn't paid much attention to the forced induction threads becuase I can aford one. I have a b16 in a crx with the basic upgrades(mani/exhaust/cam etc). I was wonder how many people are building there own turbo's( not brand kits ).

So if anyone has built a turbo in a b16 crx can you tell me what parts to use...what parts had to be custom made. possibly some prices.

You really should pay attention to the posts in this forum and run a search about the information you desire.

But, to help you out, I'll provide a couple of links. Snoop around www.homemadeturbo.com - they have plenty of experience with CRXs; and http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html.

Geez this is blowing my mind. I had been expecting to pay 3g's for a turbo. Much thanks to you Clm-Sol for responding at all...I didn't think anyone would reply due to the lack of research I have done.

That link made it seem pretty simple and cheap. Looked at some of the prices on ebay and seems very affordable. I think I found everything I would need on ebay for around 1000-1300. I spend that on cigs every month. If I had known this I year ago my car wouldn't still be running 15's
Anyway cheers to my new project and the new found knowledge of turbos!

I'm building my own turbo setup. I've got a 90 crx hf w/ b16 I/E for now. I'm gonna put on a KKK k26 turbocharger from a porsche(or audi, I cant remember which) Jon over at thedropshop.com is making me a custom manifold right now. I ordered the custom made intercooler off ebay and I'm still searching for the other parts. If you're patient and wait for the good deals, you can build yourself a nice setup for a pretty cheap price. The key is PATIENCE.

for the price of your previous mods u could have gone turbo.

im going to be around 1220 total for my 91integra with a b16. and thats with a timer and 3 inch exhaust. if u make your own kit ebay will become your friend and your enemy.
