I would have to wonder about this one. On my 90 Accord I had a kick *** alarm. It was an Alpine 8080. I had an Alpine paging system with it. The pager paged me if the alarm went off. It had LEDs to tell me which zone was violated. (Glass sensor,door,trunk/hood, and proximity). The pager had an additional paging channel so that someone inside the car could flip a switch and page the pager (picking your kids up at school or something). I had a dual zone proximity sensor also. I had the inner zone hooked up to the Alarm input to trigger if someone reached in or got into the interior. But the outer zone was hooked up to the extra paging channel. Basically when someone walked near the car, I would be paged. If the alarm went off, I would know if it was a false alarm or someone actually breaking into the car by seeing exactly what sensors were tripped.

Now that, my friend, is PROTECTION.

the remote start alone is $500 installed at best buy? thats pretty steep for just a remote start. and the two way pagers.....i've heard mixed reviews about this one..

Yodi, I couldn't begin to say how much but I'm sure it was more than 1500 bucks. I had some other special features too. I was paranoid back then. It was the first nice new car I owned and I wasn't going to let it get violated. I also had an almost $10,000 stereo system in it. I know you can't buy that alarm anymore.I took it in to have it put in my 95 Accord and the shop fried it. I have some newer Alpine alarm now.

It's a good reliable setup. I haven't had any problems and very few false alarms. I love Alpine alarms. I use my auto start a lot. The funny thing is this car is in the garage and I don't drive it during the winter so I never get to warm up my car on a cold day. I have to go outside and start the car like everyone else. Alarm systems are like engines, you can have a really good alarm/ engine but if it's not installed/tuned properly, it will work like ****. I recommend proffesional installation. If your going to do it yourself just make sure your sensors are set properly. It will make all the difference. If your alarm falses constantly, you will annoy people and will be ignored when the alarm is really going off due to a real violation. .

LOL those alarms are so exagerated the price i mean, they cost like $300 AUS here and even people dont get them....

Personally I think they are pretty crap... those remotes are too bulky to fit my pockets

If people wanted to steal your car that bad, doesnt matter what you got they someway or another can steal it

why not just wire up a kill switch to your ignition or fuek pump? thats what i did to mine so no one can steal the car unless they put that bitch on a flatbed. nothing left to steal inside. [scrubachu]

Yeah, and it's amazing what the guys will want to steal. Last spring, a guy in a Del Sol showed up and tried to steal my OEM all corroded wheels. I don't have any anti-theft system because I figure the car isn't worth much anymore anyways, so why would anyone want to steal the car, he'd inherit a bunch of problems instead.
Anyway, we caught him, it was 3 am and my landlord spotted him while he was up(lucky me...) So I went out with my driver#5 and gave him a worthwhile beating until the cops arrived. The guys were pretty cool, and I didn't see the kid come back anymore. And you know what's worst? I live right next to the police station!!
on the Del Sol kid, lol

Just go to Circuit City and get the Remote Start/Two way pager/Alarm system made by Viper for 499.99.
