Default Parting out 94 Si

I know this isn't the right place for this post, but apparently I don't have permission to participate in the classifieds forum (maybe someone will tell me why).

Anyway, it's a friends car that he threw into a ditch a little over a year ago. The entire body is pretty beat up. Motor is intact but I don't think they were able to start it after the wreck - it was rebuilt or something just a few weeks right before the ditch took it off the road. I think it has about 120k on the chassis. Front seats are spoken for, but pretty much anything else is up for sale. If you need anything or have a question about the condition of a part, then I'll see if it's usable and send a pic or two. The car is about 45 minutes away from me, so I can't run out there to investigate everyday, so please be patient. If you're interested in the whole car, make an offer.

There are a few pics of the car I think the day after the wreck here:

Post here, my IM's don't seem to be working either.

Radiator fan control, front ashtray, and tweeters on dash corners are all on my list now. I should make it out there by about Saturday. Everyone needs to email me their email with the name of the part in the subject so I can email you pictures when I get them. Thanks.

I really need someone to buy the motor/tranny/ecu/harness to make the parting-out worth my while, so if someone could help me out...and I'll be testing to make sure it's all still good. Oh, and just a fair warning, I'll give preference to someone wanting the whole car as opposed to parting it.

Boosted, I'm going to discuss pricing with the owner tomorrow, but if anyone wants to make an offer on anything, they can. Same goes for the other price requests. 94 SuperLude, it's a 5sd, and I'll check the wheels for you. That's quite a list Honda Sport, keep in mind the shipping costs of large or heavy items. I'm not going to ship disposable items like a battery. Also, a bumper is expensive to ship, but I'll do it if you're willing to pay the boxing and shipping fees on something like that.

Update:
Still haven't discussed pricing yet, that will be tonight. It's the H23a1, and I would like the engine, tranny, ecu, etc to go as a package. The whole center console was called already, the rest of the requests are on my list. And I do have a couple people that might want the whole car. I don't want to discourage people from asking about parts though. Also, some people were having trouble looking at the pics, so here they are without all that formatting: http://thefuse.net/jason/pics/car%20pics/

questions, comments, requests, info? I would encourage you to email me.

Default ***New Info***

Ok, here's the latest: I met with the owner tonight and discussed how things are going to happen. We set up a price list of the parts requested for those interested and I'll be going out to inspect the engine and the parts on the list on Friday. I will be taking many more pictures of all parts of the car and anything that needs to be cleaned will be cleaned. If any parts are found to be damaged their prices will be adjusted accordingly. Since several people have contacted me about buying the whole car, I'm giving the people interested in doing so until noon on Sunday (12/15/02) to close a deal. If a deal is not made by that time, I will begin taking money on orders for parts and removing them.

Here is the list of parts and prices I have compiled so far. All prices are, of course, negotiable, I don’t want to rip anyone off, but once the market decides the price; the highest bid takes it instead of the first person who called it. If you emailed me or asked for a price on here, then your name is in parenthesis after the part in the order that I received requests (any errors will be corrected if called to my attention). Excuse the formality, but I need the order so there isn’t any confusion.

1. Whole car - still rolls perfect, no damage to underside or suspension, everything included except AEM intake and front seats, the stock intake will be included. $2300
2. Motor/tranny/ecu/harness/axles/etc. – cost $1500 for used motor that was swapped in a month before the wreck - believed to have less than 50k miles on the clock. $1750
3. Radiator fan control module - the small black box next to the ECU (boostedH23a1) $25
4. Front ash tray (wburn) $10
5. Little tweeters on dash corners (wburn) $20
6. Passenger side visor (visualvb) $15
7. RPM, speedometer, gauge cluster all the way across dash (Honda Sport, Justin Lam, Joshua) $175
8. Plastic shifter surround (Honda Sport) $5
9. Rear bumper (Honda Sport) $45
10. Windshield wiper reservoir (Honda Sport) $8
11. Plastic window and door control surrounds, driver & passenger (Honda Sport) $5
12. Wheels (94SuperLudeSi, Honda Sport) $300
13. Center console with e-brake handle and bracket (scott6760, pdphks, Joshua) $45
14. Both plastic vents next to headlights and hard plastic that holds vents (eujin) $12
15. Stock side skirts (eujin, Joshua) $60
16. Driver’s side sun visor (humtake) $15
17. Tail light assemblies (yoshio006) $100

All prices do not include shipping. All parts pending a detailed inspection and are described to the best of my knowledge. If any defects or damage are found, the prices will be lowered accordingly. All parts open to the market on Sunday at noon if the car does not sell. Email me with any questions, comments, or requests. fivilnivil@yahoo.com

Default you're all on the list

Humtake,
Rear quarters are wrinkled, I'll add the pass. door to list of things to check.

mealso,
You know you can cut part of that plastic inner fender to let your tires clear - or take it out all together. I'll email my number in a couple days if the car isn't scooped up by someone. And you're on the list for some inner fenders.

SlankysGirl,
Sunroof is now on my list now of things to check. Did you want the glass, the motor, the tracks, maybe just cut the roof off at the pillars and get it all?

visualvb,
Don't worry, you're already on the list.

Default went and saw the car today...

Well boys and girls, I saw the car tonight and have a few things to report. I have good news and bad news. First the bad news: the car was much rougher than the last time I looked at it closely. It had been moved to a more remote location so it would be less of an eye sore and apparently during the recent rains in Houston, the wind pulled the tarp up that was protecting the rolled down windows and broken glass holes. It only exposed the passenger side window, but there are now pools of water on the pass. floorboard. The valve cover was removed a few days after the accident because the car would't turn over after it was towed resulting in cam lobe rust. I found out that the engine was still running right after the accident so I don't think it was hydrolocked, but no hard evidence on it yet. Also the digital camera that was brought out to take pictures couldn't take a decent flash shot, (it was a real POS) so no pictures yet. Now more bad news: The guy that owns the property that the car is on wants it moved ASAP (it's been there for 14 months already). So I have to move the car before I can take parts off, which looks like I can have done by Tuesday if everything goes smoothly. This all means more delays in getting the parts out to the public. Now the good news: the car will be parted, not sold as a whole. Everyone gets their chance at some parts! I'm doing this because I don't feel comfortable selling the engine as it is. I'll be heading back out there on Sunday to take pics with a better camera, and in the daylight. Also, most of the parts requested looked ok at first glance, I was unable to run down the entire list and check everything in detail though. In the mean time, I'll still take parts requests if anyone has any (email me).

ps. If anyone in the Houston area has a flat bed trailer I can borrow to move this thing, we could work out a trade for something you might need off the car.
