Default Idle problems B16A

Hello. I just got my B16A working but when i start it up it does one of two things. With all vacume hoses plugged in the car starts to idle at 2750 rpm's and then goes higher and higher and higher. Now if I un plug one of the vacume hoses it dles at a constant 1750 rpm. Anyone have any suggestions as to where the problem could be?

Any help would be appreciated.

Don

I had the same problem with my B18a. Don't hook up the dashpot valve (the one attached to the throttle linkage). What car did you drop the engine into?

i had the same problem in my B16A...cept mine was idling a little higher. I found the problem to be in the throttle body. The previous owner must have removed some sealer in the throttle body, and i had to put some sealant, and it works fine now. Maybe you should check ur throttle body?? take it off and see if its all sealed correctly?
