This may be a stupid question, but I have my old pm6 ecu on ebay and someone asked me if it was 26 or 28 pins on the chip. Do I have to open it up and check (I'd rather not)? Did pm6's come with 2 different chips? Thanks.

 

anyone? I always thought a pm6 was a pm6 was a pm6. Did they change the chip in any of the years?

 

88-89 are diff from 90-91.... 90-91 are easyer to chip. no clue on pin #'s tho

 

the 90-91 pm6 is eprom the 88-89 is not i really dont know why its called that but i wanted to buy a chip for my pm6 88-89 and i cant find one.

 

the E just stands for earasable PROM chip. The other can be done by soldering in a new chip.
