A/C Removal from an SI
From a 99 SI, what should be done for the A/C Removal ? Some people are telling me, just, unbolt and unhook from one side to the other and I'm done, don't some things need to be plugged up.......thoughts, comments, (but hopefully no flames for gutting car) And i couldnt find anything in the search.
Thanks guys.

There really isn't much to plug up if you remove it all. The only thing that should be left is the hole in the firewall that runs the freon lines into the cold box located under your dash.
Remove the compressor, lines, line dryer, condenser, etc. That is what I did.

Well, i know Acura has an A/C install document that was published on here (for the type-r) and maybe honda had the same for the models of civics that didnt come with it.....thanks
check that link out.. its how to install an a/c system in a 99 civic, do it in reverse order or close to it.. also when you release the r134 do it in an open area, not a closed garage it can **** you up a little bit, not seriously i dont think but my friend this when he did his swap and it was tough to breath

If asked about you releasing the freon to the open air.......it was a mistake. "You didn't know that removing that bolt would let the freon out." Blatently releasing freon is ilegal but accidental release is not punished.
I also want to support that any released freon in an enclosed area (garage) displaced oxygen and can cause some serious problems. Open the door and get out the fan. (Just in case right?)

Take it to a shop and have them evac it. I'm no tree hugger but seems like the right thing to do since that stuff is not good. I had mine done at the same shop that removed my cat
