for a 91 CRX Si swap to B16A. Which Cable Tranny should I use (Y1, S1, J1)., which ECU should I get (PR3, PWO).

 

As far as tranny, you dont have many choices. The Y1 will create a lower reving motor on the intrestate (taller gearing). I think the S1 and J1 have the same gear, and good for in town driving (shorter gearing).

As far as ecu's, use which ever came with the 1g b16. I am not up on my ecu codes.

 

I would go with the PR3 ecu and either the J1 or S1 transmission.

 

J1 unless you have an extra 300 to drop on a "hopefully" good lsd tranny

 

Why do they distinguish between s1 and j1 if they have the same gears? What is different about them?

 

1st Gen B16 ECU's are either a PW0 or a PR3.
