I was involved in an accident last week and i found out i need a new hood. I was thinking of getting a CF one, but is it legal for road racing/auto-x? I think i remember reading somewhere that a lot of sanctions dont allow them? Maybe it was regarding hood pins... i dunno. But, since it will be around $450 for a new OEM hood, or a CF hood, which one would you buy? I planned to paint the CF if i got it, so it could end up costing more.

 

I posted this here because i plan to start with Solo-II and go from there when i get my new wheels/tires.

 

really depends on where exactly you plan on racing. our club racing car (GT 4) actually runs a kevlar hood while our pro cars are required to run a stock (minus the skeleton) hood.

 

A stock class nor street prepared class would allow you to run a carbon fiber hood. That puts you in street mod with crazy S4's and a turbo Neon.
