Can anyone tell me if I want to put a B 16 in a 96 civic, what year of the engine is legel in th US, do I have to get any paper work or anything?

 

I do believe that it has to be a newer motor... not possitive though

 

call your local state troopers to find out what the laws are regarding years of motor swap. when i lived in maryland they had no laws. i could put any motor into any car i wanted as long as the smog equipment from the year of the chassis was installed on the car.

 

depends on states and laws.. some states its illegal to put a motor from one car into and different car unless its the same motor.. in cali i know that the motor has to be newer than the car.. you cant put a motor from a 95 gsr into a 99 civic, but you can put a 99 gsr motor into a 95 civic.. get it???
