Copyright/Royalties question regarding the Type R logo?
Ok, a good friend of my father owns a printing shop up in Michigan, and I got to thinking how cool it would be to have sweatshirts or something made (In white, yellow, and black
) with the Type R logo on the back and car number over the chest-pocket area.
I could do a possible group buy if anyone was interested in something like this, I really have no idea how much they would run or anything like that, I just have the hookup, and would personally like a cool Type R zippered sweatshirt to replace my current NIU beat up sweatshirt I wear everywhere.
The question is, if I did a small run of these sweatshirts what royalty issues would be involved? I don't want Honda to come sue my *** for printing up 20 Type R sweatshirts... Does anyone have any idea what legalities are involved in something like this? I wouldn't be making any money off them, so it would be pretty lame to get in any trouble, but I remember when the Honda lawyers tried to shut down H-T for using the Honda name... better safe than sorry.
What do you guys think?

Ehh, yeah I know... But I don't think I've ever gotten out of trouble in my life going "but everyone else does it!!!"
I'll buy one if everything is not going to come off in the washer. I had some cool t-shirts that turned into plain white ones after a couple washes.
I dont see why putting "Type R" on anything would be a problem. Type R can mean anything, although putting "Integra Type R" is where it would technically become a problem, but I say go for it anyway.

a customized baseball cap with our R number will be a great idea..

I'd really like to see something like that, maybe the actual Number plate (pic of) on the hat...
Heh, I'd be willing to bet the shirts jdmspoonitr is talking about are from Cafepress
