Default Cylinder head/intake manifold heat transfer Q's regarding Hondata IM Gasket.

i've notice people are doing this mod and their vouching for it, so i'm questioning it...

between the cylinder head and the intake manifold we have a paper insulation gasket, but because it's compressed paper it won't typically catch on fire, but i'm wondering how hot does that paper go or does it restrict a bit of heat because the intake manifold doesn't typically touch the intake manifold, although the heat generated will get absorbed by the intake manifold itself....

because I was looking at the insulator that hondata makes and it looks like a plastic polimer that was CNC's out.. now i found this plastic and machined one but wanted to test it so i put a heat gun on it and when tempetures started to climb i noticed that the white plastic turned clear and it would become "maleable - aka bendable" now .. i'm wondering if they use a special teflon plastic or it's common teflon... i'm also wondering how hot that plastic becomes upon operation or if it doesn't because the paper on still takes a chunk out of the expanding heat from the cylinder head...

I can't test mine because my motors appart.. but it's well designed..

any suggestions/comments on this...

mine is quite thick because further injector placement is actually better for N/a applications... (but we won't go there for this discussion

thanx for the help guys...

oh my motor is h22a...

you might be right look at this http://web.umr.edu/~wlf/Synthesis/teflon.html

but the cold flow part bothers me because with cold flow there is also much easier hot flow but teflon seems to handle heat 327 degrees vs urethane i dont know. edit: urethane melts at a much lower temp so i guess it would have to be teflon. but if i were making my own i would try nylon or phenolic resin as used in carburator spacers.
