There appears to be some nasty viruses floating around.
I was smoted twice myself. Symantec seems to be about a half step slow.

but I upgrade the definitions weekly... and I'm behind a router and a switch with newly upgraded firmware... no public IP = to hackers!

I have caught one too, I just redid my system 2 days ago...

We had NT up on the PDC for 166 consecutive days, until yesterday, when I installed a printer and we had to reboot.
MAC indeed...

Heh. Yep. Then the rest of my day was spent cleaning up the help desk cases "I can't get logged on to the network, I can't print, blah, blah, blah."
Geez. For 2 minutes the friggin' thing is down.... It's people like that who requested the new printer in the first place. <smacks forehead>

Actually I had been completely trouble free for two years until this little fiasco.
Maybe I was just lucky?

Win 2k is the best OS ever. Only time it has ever even locked up was because of a cd drive that went bad. Slapped in a new motherboard, chip, and ram the other day and didnt even have to re-install. Keep your systems clean and tidy and they will be good to you.

Actually, tried that. It didn't like the XP driver, and crashed the spooler.
Might have had something to do with it being up for 166 days.

No problems with my win 2k boxes. All of them run just fine and haven't had any severe problems since I did the initial install.

 

me neither.. win2k is very stable on all 5 of my machines.. i'd say most errors these days are from the user, not the OS itself..

 

All this and I still don't know who emailed about my trailer.

 

Thats weird because i always get these emails with thread topics as the subject, and they are viruses
