Painted side skirts revisited
(also posted on the Integra forum)
I think some information got blown away from the archives, so here goes...
My cars in the body shop, while its in there I want to get the side skirts (black plastic) shot to match the body color. This is a top-notch shop from what I have seen, the guy who wrote the estimate advised against it though. Said the crinkle finish doesnt hold paint well. Can it just be sanded down ? Its the same black plastic as the bumper cover, right ?
I need opinions by Monday ! Thanks

I disagree with your body shop guy. My sideskirts were the black plastic, and I had them painted. I would have to say its been about 8 or 9 months that they have been painted now, and they still look perfect to me.
Well I went to the body shop, the entire rear of the car was taken off, as were the side skirts. So they really have no argument not to shoot them, what could be easier ?
The TypeR skirts are a good idea, except (a) Im a cheap bastard and (b) its a sedan
I might get them to leave off the emblems off the trunk lid... Hmmmm
Thanks for the ideas, guys
