what motor is in the 98 CL?
F23A1 or F23A4? and was it available in a 5-speed? doesn't really matter much, I'm more just curious than anything.
Whoever lived in my house before me just got a big book of coupons from the Acura dealer. most are stupid stuff like MDX floormats, but one of them is %15 off any parts counter purchase
just thinking about what
have the same motor/tranny as my car.

the 98 cl could either have the f23a1 motor(the diff b/w the a1 and a4 motor is nothing big at all, the a4 has stricter emission control, thats all) or the j30a motor from the 98+ accord v6.
i believe the 97 cl was the only year to share the same motor as the 94-97 accord ex(f22b1).

Its definately a F23 but which designations....dont know.
I was under the assumption that all the CL's up to the 2000 (2nd generation) all had accord motors.
i.e. the 98 & 99 have F23's or the J30a

Ok Yeah I know it's the F23 in the 98, but are you certain about the 99? I thought the 99 was the new body style and was unavailable with a 4cyl. I could be wrong though
not really important, I'm just gonna buy maintenance parts. oil filters and stuff like that. I was just kinda curious.
