Would a b18 affect my turning ability at all?
im thinking about getting a b16 or a b18. i need to do the auto to manual swap so im looking for a full swap. anyone with a b18 in their crx notice a difference in handling? I drive through alot of twistys and i already got the full suspension and if the b18 is going to screw my handling up im just going b16.....
The difference between the weight of the b16 vs. b18 wont be noticable. I have a b18b swap in my 90 ef, and I didnt notice a huge handling difference.

thanks guys i guess im going with the ls then
are there any other problems with swapping an ls into my rex? like clearance issues? i hear from some people that the hood won't clear and you have to cut it, or you have to modify the crossmember... does it matter on what mount kit you have also?

You may encounter slightly more understeering when you turn in but it is no big deal and can be compensated by a inbound/rebound adj. suspension kit. But you don't need it. I drove a B18c6 SiR and I think it rules. Only the B20 makes the understeer worse and needs more attention. See the picture for the clearance of a B20 in a ZC ..

plus the fact races are won on the straightaway not the turns
that's the most wierdest racing mentality i've ever heard...
i doubt that applies for lets say nascar or indy or even speedvision touring car
since all cars have simular hp figures and weight:hp ratios that accelerating in a straight would not gain you THAT much ground... and passing is mostly done on corners because a skilled driver can shave time off the corner..
isn't track racing about the ability to keep maximum speed around corners and minimize braking time?

Well in wheel to wheel racing I'm going to say most cars do the passing on the straights, not the turns since it's hard and risky. So he is sort of right in that sense, if thats what that guy meant.
well i like to drive the twisty mountain and cornering is very important to me. my d15 POS does not get me up the hill so i was just wondering if i'd be ok with the b18. driving in a straight line does not entertain me.......
