well today about 2:00pm i was on my way to my house to get some clothes when i got in a head-on collision. the guy wasn't watching the road and drifted into my lane. it is an 88 rex (dx) w/ 212k on the odometer. but d16z6/turbo swaped into it. about 9k on the engine, just installed the turbo last sunday night. if it ends up totaling then i am just going to sell some stuff off of it, take anything i might be able to use on my girls 95 ex, and be done with the race car stuff for awhile. we'll see.... sucks, 2 years of work down the drain b/c some idiot wanted to look at fallen trees and power lines....

the things i could see that needed replacing are: front bumper support, driver side head light, bulb, corner light,radiator, radiator supports,hood, driver side fender, and a lot of straightening for some other metal in surounding area.... i left the scene to go to the hospital, dad took it home (last 150 ft of the way) and i haven't gotten a chance to look at it in a clear mind. we are all alright, just brused up bad. maybe it isn't bad and it can be fixed, but maybe the frame is bent? we'll see... just thought i would shre my bad news and say wear some seat belts guys, this **** sucks...

 

That really sucks to hear man. Im sure youll get more than what the car alone is worth though. My friend payed 600bucks for a crx, and fixed it up a lil, then a woman hit him. Was only a fender bender and the insurance co. gave him 2500 and he got to keep the car, and he sold it for 1000 as is. So it could come out for the better?

 

eh, shouldn't be totaled. My sister rearend this lady last year in her 91 rex. Pushed her headlights damn near above her valve cover. Damages came to $4000, but suprisingly it wasn't totaled. Insurance company dropped the entire family after that one (Parents paid em for 13 years w/o 1 single claim.. its bull).

I'd say try and get um to right ya out a check and fix the damages for a couple hundred, then whatever else ya might want/..

yea, well as far as the $$ i'll get, not worried on that end. but i know a 91 rex is worth a lot more than 88 dx with that many miles, and a bunch of after market stuff on it... we'll see.... maybe it will come out fixed and actually get my dad on the ball to paint it..

well shes totaled... far past it. getting like $2300 for the car and i keeps. done with the rex. looking for a 5g hatch. i'm converting. hit the search under recent and my name in classifieds for ish selling. most is sold... engine and turbo not for sale. basically just a few interior peices left. and my OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harnesses from place racing
