I parked my car out front of the Mt. Vernon Fred Meyer with my girl in it, so I left it running for her. And two guys drove past and then tried opening the driver side door. And then tried asking what time it was so she would roll down the window or someting. They were gone when I came out 5 min. later.

damn man close call, i am currently living in lacey going to college at st. martins, i live back in yakima where there are a lot of theives. what do you all have done to your engine, i drive a 2000 black civic si, i just got it in may so not much done to mine.

Have you run your car at the track yet?I heard skagit speedway has a 1/8th mile track? never been there just curious if they actually do.Good thing the car was locked, i hate thiefs...thats why mine is parked in my garage too

 

havent run it yet. ive never been to an 1/8th mile track. hopfully this sumer i can go down to PIR in seattle

 

You should head down there with my buddy and I.He has the same set-up but in a hatch.I ran last summer but not a much as i would have liked to.I plan to run a lot more this summer being that my car will be runing better, i'm hopeing for 12.5...

alot of people i know have had sh#t stolen from the mt vernon area. a freind of mine went to a movie came out side and his car was gone . one of my other freinds worked at the mall came out side and his window was smashed, stole his sub, and boost gauge, didnt even pop the hood

criminals!!!!! I know WAY too many people who have had their rides ripped off, myself included! Anyone have any creative ideas for making one's car a bit less easy to take off with? I installed an alarm, use a club that attaches to the clutch so that it can not be engaged and plan on installing an auxiliary ignition kill switch. Any other ideas, short of going James Bond with it and making everything bullet proof?

 

what i do is ill just unplug my ecu and take it with me, most people that are trying to steal a car dont think the ecu will be missing.

 

or you could just not stress over it. yeah if youve got a car that youve invested 1000s of dollars on wheels and stereo or mods you are gonna protect it, but if people want to take it bad enough then they are gonna try to take it or mess your car up in the process. the best thing to do is be aware but make sure you have good insurance so when your stuff gets stolen you can always get it back and at least break even.

 

an alarm w/ ignition kill combine w/ hood lock mechanism would help somewhat...

 

Sometimes people are are just trying to steal parts too. They dont even want the whole car. About 6 months ago i woke up went outside my apartment and my carbon fiber hood was gone,my momo seats,my stereo,strut bar,and aem cai. I just try to watch were i park my car now.

 

Maybe they were tryin' to steal your girl. Glad to hear they didn't get either one.
