Advice on buying a Civic <need tech info>
WEll im looking at 2 Honda civics right now so here is the situation.
1)93 Honda Civic Si 250KM original owner BUT the clutch and water pump, alternator, suspension, rad have never been changed, timingbelt has been done only at 100km and the rest of the car seems ok. They are asking 4000$ WHich of these things should i get done? howe much$ in CDN
2) 1989 civic SI 180km recently painted, timing belt recent. Never touched much exept odds and ends ie ball joints... Clutch has never been done either Asking 2500$
SO what do you guys think of these two cars. I realize that they both will need some money.

Neither are worth that in my area. I got my '87 Si with 104,000mi. for $1000 and my '90 Std with 194,000mi. for $200. I'm buying another '87 Si for $350 from a friend. I prefer the older cars for their sturdier chassis as far as metal thickness. I love the third gen. hatchbacks look. It just looks like a Japanese muscle car to me, and it is with a B20 in it. I just wish I could get a turbo mani for it that would let me keep my A/C.
