B16 on 91 CRX HF, newbie Installer.
hello guys,
am a 25 year old male from NYC, i bought a 91 crx hf, 4 years ago when i was in college. I've been paying people top fix my car on and off. the vehicle has over 200k miles on it, it also has some rust which i hear are normal on hondas, the rust is in front of the rear wheel weels. i've been thinking about getting a new car, but i like the crx, and i would hate to get rid of it.
About a month ago a good friend told me about swaping my original engine for a b16 engine. I told him that he was crazy that it would cost to much money to get such a thing done. Well he sent me some web sites of JDM engine sellers, to my surprise the prices where not bad so i descided to go ahead and do the swap. Obviously i didnt jump into doing the swap i went and did some research on the engines and what it would mean as far as performance on my car. What i found out was that this engine would fit right in my car and it would give me a much needed push of power. I then began to think, why not do the swap myself, but i also thought that i have no experience with vehicles before, i've never done anything besides intall a stereo system in my car. Well i went on AOL and i entered several chat rooms. I spoke to several people but one gentleman told me that i could do the swap that it wasn't that hard. He told me to get several books, Chilton's and haynes repair manuals, honda/acura performance, honda engine builders an compact cars. I've been reading the repair manuals and i've realized that i can do this.
Well sorry for the long story. My question to the forum is what would i need as far as need parts to intall to the engine? What headers, exaust, axles, anti roll bars, clutch. Also i have no A/C in the car, i want to buy an A/C system and intall it in the car. I need some help with the type of tools i would need.
I apoligize once again for the long post, and i hope you guys understand why the long story.
thank you in advance for the help

i got my b16 from h mo . also about the motor mounts steve sells em real cheap. and you dont have to pay extra for shipping, so just buy em from him. he will ship em with the engine.
yeah the mounts from jdmshit.com were $325 with adjustable shift linkage or cut shift linkage that you will need, a tcable bracket so u can use ur existing t cable...and the shipping is free...david is great...very fast servise...good luck though ask any questions youd like
just a suggestion, take your time and dont rush into things.
use the search as much as you can and keep checking out h-t ef/crx forum to learn more.

guys thank you so much for the responses. It seems that hmotor is the way to go, i was just undescided because of how cheap their prices were. I will take my time, this swap wont take place till at least march. RaceFacer you have the same setup as i want, what kind of speed and performance difference do you notice. What kind of other mods will i need to have in the car. I was looking for a manual for the B16 but i had no luck finding such manuals, the honda pages that would be related to getting JDM manual were in japanese.
