On Friday night my heater stopped working. I turned on the car and there was no heat or air coming from the vents. On Saturday morning I started the car and the heater came right on and I didn't have a problem with it all day Saturday. This morning I turned on the car and again there was no heat, no air, no nothing. Aftrer driving for about 5 minutes the heat came on and stayed on while I drove for about 30 minutes. When I started the car again the heat was gone but came back on after about 30 minutes of driving with a quiet noise. I'm thinking that since there is a noise that is almost like a rattling coming from the vents that maybe the fan motor is going and comes on when it wants to or maybe there is some kind of wiring issue. I will probably replace the fan motor unless anyone here has some good advise for me. Thanks.

 

either fan motor or bad relay...i would check relays before tearing apart to replace motor

 

Where are the relys? I replaced the blower motor and when the heat works it's better than it was before. I know it's something with the motor because when I turn the heat on there is hot air coming from the vents but noting to blow it out. Some times the heat works fine but sometimes, usually in the morning, it doesn't work at all. I have a Hayes Manuel for my car, are the relys easy to test or replace?
