which way is the way to take out the bolt off the pulley crank.?
i tried holdin the crank bolt against the ground and starting the car but it jumps the opposite way... does the crank spin counter or clockwise?
The bolt is still a standard thread... counterclockwise to loosten... an impact gun will do the trick or check out this post... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=354164 HAHA MY BAD I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU CREATED THIS OTHER POST... OH WELL

haha.. yea man... thanx.. ill wait for ur pics then... i jux need to get my car running.. thats my daily... and now im workin on weekdays.. so hard having one car and only tha weekends to fix...
take of the flywheel cover under your tranny and stick a screwdriver into your flywheel and then proceed to take off the crank pulley bolt.....
If you are workin with a B series motor i know this for sure..... You'll have to take off the front and rear stabalizer brackets which hold the tranny to the block... they are 17mm on the tranny side and 12mm on the block side if i'm not mistaken.. You will also have a couple 12mm and 10mm bolts that hold the shield to the tranny... I don't work with SOHC motors that much but i'm pretty sure they do have a couple 10mm's that bolt the shield to the oil pan... Good Luck... it's really easy

This was how we did it on my single cam....we had the impact wrench going and we still could not break the bolt...until we did what i posted above...
tap on the head of the bolt or tighten it a little to break it free then use an impact to zip it off(counter clockwise) follow these directions in reverse to reinstall

take off the crank pulley
i had to take two screw drivers put them through the holes on the pully take the biggest bar you have and use it to hold the pulley still let the bar rest against the axle and use the longest breaker bar and metal pipe u can find

Degooser is absolutely right...by far the easiest way to get that frozen bolt off is by means of taking that flywheel cover off and wedging a large screwdriver into the flywheel teeth and tranny housing. Use the screwdriver trick to also torque the crankshaft bolt down when you're done...Don't skimp on the torque when tightening it down because it will work itself right off...Degooser and I have done a roadside repair on my car because the damn thing wasn't cranked down tight enough (I used honda specs and everything)...I think my manual specs my D series to be cranked to 130lbs...We played it safe and cranked it to 150-160lbs...
good luck
good luck
You can try putting it in 5th gear and have a friend stand on the brakes while you work at it with a long pipe over the breaker bar.
Has anyone thought of using the tool that's built for this? It has a large hex outer ring that slides inside the crank pulley.
What does that tool look like???
because if there was a tool that would take this bolt of easier.....
sign me up!!

if you are working with a DOHC then the crank pulley has a hexagon opening in the middle. snap on carries a special tool that will fit inside of the pulle to hold it from moving and also allow you to put a socket 19mm through the center. this tool is a little costly but when your friends need it you can rent it out $.
