how to get into high to mid 12s w/ full interior
here's the deal, im trying to build up a 95 civic si hatch...i plan on runnin a JDM gsr engine, what mods an **** ould i need to get into high to mid 12s an keep it a street car that will pass inspection an emissions an **** (an hopefully a full interior)
cheapest and most reliable route is a turbo and/or nitrous. might have a hard time passing emissions though. try the link in my signature.
Really it's not going to be that difficult... I would do this because it relatively inexpensive and this should get you into the mid to high 12's... Overbore your motor .25mm with CTR slugs, send the head out to Portflow and stick a CTR intake cam in it.... I would toss some RC 310's in and the rest is up to tuning... You could probably tune it pretty well with a VAFC but i would just run hondata if money allows... Good Luck... Otherwise send the block out sleeve it up and with some high compression pistons... I would still send the head to Portflow and run some high lift cams.... This is what I'm doin.. Latez
This was a couple years ago so it's nothing special now... but my friend (streetracer) had his 95 Si w/ a USDM GSR, CTR intake cam, sprockets (@ +2, -1), 2000 Si tranny, Quaife LSD, MT 20x6x14 slicks, chipped P28, AEM CAI and a JDM ITR header... Full interior he ran a 13.03@103... Not bad for a basically stock GSR motor...
your gonna drop a gsr into a 95 civic si too? well lemme know how it goes, im not doin it for a while, just doin my research on the swap an all, i gotta save up the money for it first...

Nothing like running a little boost like 13 psi and Hondata. Served on the same plate got me to pass emmissions in Connecticut and make 333fwh. Because of Hondata's ability to tune off boost the car nevers sees boost on the emmissions dyno so you tune for 12.3-12.7 and then emmissions is an easy thing to do. Now for dessert you would probably like to get the wideband 02 sensor to tune on the road using the Hondata. You will then have good power, good gas mileage and achieve a 12-13 sec. car.
Yea my other friend has his EK... GSR turbo.... boostin 13psi cuz only stock sleeves with JE 9.0 slugs, eagle rods, Portflow GSR head, JG Victor X intake manifold, RC 900's, B16 cams, chipped P28 and Hondata 2b, RevHard stage 2C turbo kit w/ T3/T04E hybrid.... tial 40mm wastegate, turbo XS BOV, and Blitz SBC.. It dynoed at 355whp... and with the shitty 2000 Si tranny and Quaife LSD he wasn't getting full boost till 4th gear... Just going to the track full interior, poping on the Bogart Pro 4's with MT 24.5x9x13 slicks he ran a 11.91@119... I would think that he could get somewhere around 11.50's out of it now... he's got his LS hybrid tranny and he says he gets boost a lot sooner... Peace
here's my plan:
Setup
95 Civic Si
97-01 JDM GSR engine
Sleeved
13:1 High Compression Pistons
I/H/E
Skunk2 Cams
Skunk2 Cam Gears
Slicks
ACT Stage 3 Clutch
LSD
V-tec Controller
alright, how much do you guys think all this will come out to be, and how quick do you think it'll be as well

haha Gary Gary Gary. I think that's exactly what I have down to the clutch. Except I have phantom grip instead of LSD. Too bad your bro took back his APEXi Vtec controller so now I need to figure out how to get this other DataSystem one that I have to work. Well good luck Gary. Guess who it is.
whats up johnny, just not tryin to **** up when i do some of this **** like alexis did, im tryin to actually know what im talkin about...screw ls-vtec...too sensitive...do you really have the high compression pistons an all though?
