Spray painting the car???
I wondering if anybody's spray painted their car before. I mean the black pieces on the bottom of the car. I don't know what you call it but it's right under the door and it goes from wheel to wheel. It's where the side shirts go. Well anyway, if anybody's spray painted them before to match the car can you tell me how satisfying it is or how "ugly?" I have a 95 GSR. Thanks for any info.
It all depends on the color of your car. My brothers is Frost White and he did it with the "Import Color" spray paint you get at Pep Boys. It's color matched to the car. I have the teal green color (dont remember wtf its called), and they don't make a color matched paint for it. I dont remember if he primed it first or what, but it's smooth so I'm assuming he did.

dont try to cover in one coat , take your time and should come out nice.

I painted my side molding. I went to a auto-body store and bought a custom-spray can. They will take the color code from your door jambs and mixed the paint. Than they put it into a spary can. It looks very good. It cost about $20 a can

How long does the spray last anyway...a couple months? And, does the quality look good? I would hate to shell out the doe for a real paint job.

Let me tell you this..no one can tell is home spray since the side skirt will always be cover my a thin dust on white car.
take it off sand it down(with different grat of sandpapers) wash it clean with 3m
cleaner to make the primer sticks better, rub alcohol to remove oil.
go to some well vented indoor, spray primer on it..
i usually do 2-3 thin coats of primers, 4-5 coats of thin paint, and of course
clear coat for the shinny finish.
dont skip any step..sand it down when you see dust or other blemishs.
I also use a heater to dry it every.
please allow enuff time to let each coat dry, sounds simple enuff yet alot of
people made those kind of mistake.
