Default Tool for adjusting VTEC head valves

My mechanic says there is a tool made specifically for adjusting VTEC valves. Can someone tell me if they have seen this and who makes it?

Thanks!

You can just bend a open end 10mm like this and it will work fine... I've also done it without the tool but it takes time to get the feel.... With out the tool i just use a deep 10mm socket, set the set screw so there is a little extra lash then tighten the 10mm expecting it to slip a little.. Of course you have to double check and that's what takes time... I really would like a snap on tool but for now i'm fine with my little Craftsman crows foot that i just got the other day... It seems to work fine... here's a pic of how to bend the open end if you decide you would to do it... Besides it's the cheapest...

If you don't wanna go through the work of making it there are a few people on here that make them... I've seen them say that all you are payin for is the wrench and shipping so they really aren't makin anything profit... I dunno tho...

Its like $45 shipped from snap-on...its worth the money....ease of adjustment and you can be more accurate than a closed socket wrench, b/c with a closed socket you just hope you don't keep turning the adjustment as you tighten the bolt.

Do you have a link for that, cause I asked a dealer in his truck and I thought he said about $160. If its only 45 I'll buy one today.

http://buy.snapon.com/catalog/pro_de...re&dir=catalog

Try that link, see if it works. If not, go to http://www.SnapOn.com and browse the catalog under "Valve". You want the 10mm.

Can you or anyone else please tell me how to make this. Or who exactly makes them. I know $45 might not be that much to pay for a handy tool, but if thing open wrench tool also does the job, then ill like to have this. thanx.

I made one of those do-it-yourself valve adjustment wrenches like above.

What a ****** waste. The metal had weakened so bad after I heated it that it ended up bending to where I couldn't use it. I would suggest NOT doing that and buying the snap-on

Just clamp a 10mm open end into a vise and heat it up with a torch.... You can get it hot enough to were you can just bend it by lightly tapping it with a hammer... The end on the left is the one that you wanna copy... cuz you will want to bend it pretty close to the head of the wrench so that it will fit into the tight little spots... If i can find the guy that was sellin them on here i'll get it to you... Lemme know if you need anymore help.... Peace
