THE WEIGHT OF AN EF.....1/4 Mile W/ ZC
I got this dopey friend, he always talks a lot of ****. He told me he is going to put a ZC in his 91 hatch. He said After that he'd run 13.3 easily because the EF wieghs 1600 lbs Flat. I disputed with him for a while, then just said **** it. How much does an EF wiegh, and what are the 1/4 mile times around with the ZC, no mods?
Weight of the car depends on the trim package:
std -- 2127 pounds
dx -- 2165 pounds
si -- 2291 pounds
according to: http://autos.msn.com/vip/specificati...d=1307&src=vip
a 91 hatch with a stock ZC (130 HP) will typically run a mid to high 15s.

W/ weight reduction, no interior, etc.. My DX w/ ZC rang in at ~1800.
ZC's in EF's are going to hit mid/high 15's w/o mods.
I/H/E, gutted, ACT 6 Puck, Fidanza 9lb, eXtreme PP, and mine ran 14.8 w/ traction.
Put on the Greddy kit, broke 4 mounts, and tried it again..14.5. Soon as I get my tranny/mounts fixed, It'll be in the 13's..

yeah. Unfoltunatly (sp?) it was done before I got the car, so I can't brag about being able to make it do that.
From the way it's starting to look though, I might be ditching this project for something more "comfortable". No a/c, no heat, nothing, body needs some work (slight scrape on drivers hand side 1/4, kind of like a sideswipe but not too bad.)
Oh well. The ZC is fun and all, but the aftermarket supports of the B series and SOHC D series is so much better. I've had fun w/ mine, but I wanna build a mini-me turbo.

good luck with that mini-me turbo. and yeahh the support for this eng. is so minimal is anoying. this is a great engine and there are so many people with them, but the support from big companies is not there...
