to be honest with you man....you could live w.out the AC...ive been told it alone is between 30 and 40lbs of extra weight....but a Y8 is a d-series motor...why wouldnt it fit into a motor bay that will hold a b16 and A/C....but i have a Y8 swap...No A/C cause i have a DX model CRX...but i enjoy the swap and you should to

No, hell no i cant live without A/C, lol. When i had my 89 with no A/C, i wanted to die in the summer here in cali. I dont mind the extra weight, i'd rather have the extra weight than sweat to death. But good, i get to keep my a/c

you will have to use your a6 compressor mounting bracket. The y8 mounting bracket will not bolt up with your a6 compressor.

I have the a6 compressor/a6 compressor bracket bolted to the y8 block.

If you were goint to use the y8 compressor, then you would have to use the y8 compressor mounting bracket.

The 4 bolts that hold the compressor bracket to the block are the same, but the 4 bolts that hold the compressor to the compressor bracket are different from the a6 and the y8.

I wanted to use the y8 compressor bracket because it is aluminum and it is a little lighter than the a6 one, but it wouldnt work.
