i was just wondering if anyoned raced a gsr...i did today and that **** was pretty quick cause most gsr i raced, i smoked em but this **** was on my asz....could it have been a type r or just a quick asz gsr? i got b16 intake header exhaust v-tec controller gutted interior and l12 lbs rims...well just wondering cause i couldnt talk to the guy after i raced him...

 

Probably had mods like, cams etc...I dont really smoke GSR's but beat em on short races like 2 blocks or so (1st to 3rd gear) and I have a stock LS (i/h/e and lightened flywheel)...

 

I think you'll find that if you practice on the track you get faster and faster. When I first went I could only pull a 15.3 or something gay. After practice that dropped to a 14.8. Driving is key in all respects; the car itself is secondary.

 

well i got my Z6.... i can keep with them real good off the line... heck i raced my friend on the track and i was 1 car ahead until 300 ft.... after the gsr kicked in he smoked me in the 1/4 by .8 sec... anyways i can do pretty good until like 60 mph... the best gear on damn gsr's is 3rd

 

i beat them all day long! be ashamed of yourselves!

i beat GSR's all the time .. I even beat my frend GSR turbo.. he is only pushin 5 lbs tho.. but still pull the hell out of him. and he couldnt keep up but after mid 4th gear on. he should be pulling on me..

 

Well that guy probably had some significant mods done. You never know what he could've done to his car. Just because it's a GSR doesn't mean your basic bolt ons.

I think people overestimate driving. I mean if your car lacks power and another car has a good amount more power, the car with more power is going to win. It's not a science on taking off. You rev it a little and you go. It's overrated. Maybe in a track the driving is more significant, but driving in a straight line is pretty straight forward. It's the car that wins. Unless of course if you really can't drive.

 

skyline...are you saying i cant drive? i know can i drive....not to be a dick but you dint have to put it that way...btw i smoked all gsrs i raced except this one thats why i was wondering if was an itr or just had more then i thought it had...and stkb16 i think i would be smokin em too if i had all the mods that you have!

 

well if u pull on gsr's like you said and this one was faster...what does that go to show you? that he has some work done to his!!!

 

No, i'm not saying that you can't drive i'm just saying some people put too much emphasis on driving skill when in reality, it's really like riding a bike, once you know how to take off, you don't forget how to do it. It's not like driving around a track with corners and you have to worry about entering the corner with the right angle and when to brake etc. It's just a straight line. That's all i'm saying.

I mean if car A has a good amount more power than car B and the driver of car A is less skilled, who do you think will win? Of course car A. It's what's in the car that counts, i don't car how good you drive. For example, a CRX Si with bolt ons has no chance against a GSR with bolt ons. I don't care who is driving. The power output is so significant.
