2000 prelude, good OR bad????
Im looking at buying a 2000 Prelude SH that has about 50k on it. I was wondering if there was anything that I should look at that may have been a problem or hinderance with this year/model prelude. its going for $18400, and Ive never had a prelude or know anyone with one, so Im new to them. Anything would help, good or bad! Thanks!

three bulbs are hardly maintenance. normal wear and tear parts will always need to be replaced. I am selling my prelude for very cheap, if your interested. The only thing I can say about the sh is that people have atts lights flash on when putting too much power in them, such as forced induction. If you are ever in my area and want to see what a prelude can do there are 4 turbo charged ludes that are friends who would be happy to take you for a ride, and I was also turbo before selling. by the way I am selling mine for 15,000 or best offer so you will have plenty of left over money to fix any problems you think it might have in the future. You probably won't find one this cheap in your area but I know someone out there really needs the cash like me.

I will check into that. I think that the ludes are getting over priced now that theyre not making them anymore. But I did have that same thought. Is there any mech problems anyone knows of that have happened before in theirs? oh, and this ones a 5-speed.

Look at www.kbb.com or www.edmunds.com , or www.bargainnews.com
Actually, the price of preludes in my area are pretty constant, they are a rarety. Average price for 2000, 2001 preludes are about $18-19K. Its not a honda dealer, but an acura, Im not sure of the certification, going to find out though tomorrow.
I found a 2000 prelude type sh with 11k miles. Its clean title and the person is asking for 10k. Is that a bargain or what? Or maybe its a scam?

Just a quick note, all type SH models are 5-speeds, honda didn't make an auto for the SH. I would think that price is a little high, but the mileage doesn't seem too bad, yet I've got a 99 SH with 93k miles on it. Bought it for 26k(out the door, talked down to 24k) with 23 miles on it from a dealer. I've supercharged it and yet to have any problem with the car, other than the fact it runs a little rich.....

I think the SH models are great, but if you go turbo your gonna have some trouble with the ATTS system. If you go with basic bolt-ons then SH are ok. I have an SH and have had problems with my ATTS
. I dont even use it anymore since I bought the hondata computer upgrade
. I still get a limited slip though, it comes with the SH model. But over all the SH weighs more and not boost friendly. Hope this helps in your decision.
