sound deadening
what's the best for insulation of road noise? I don't care about the weight too much... within reason. I hear dynomat a lot... but i just learned it's more for vibration dampening. I'm talking about road noise, engine noise... etc. Thanks
The only true method to do this is closed cell foam with some kind of heavy core barrier. This stuff is generally fairly expensive and you're going to have to use quite a bit since road noise is from everywhere. If you do this, try around the wheel wells (incide the cabin) first and work your way from there.

Like TimeRacer said, the best way to reduce road noise is to use a closed cell foam. Dynamat (or a generic equivalent) will help some, but it's primary purpose is to damp vibration, not reduce road noise.
Check out www.b-quiet.com - their V/Lcomp products. It's a 1/2 inch thick, weighs about a pound per square foot, and costs $3.70 to $8.13 a square foot (depending on quantity & type).
