Looking to get my EF hatch soon, but one I'm looking at is titled as '88, but he says it is an '89.
I know the year code is in the VIN, but don't know which numbers .....

The 10th Digit on the VIN # indicates the Year of the Car... But its a little strange because they are basically letters.
1st, 2nd, 3rd - Manufacturers Make and Type of Vehicle
4th, 5th, 6th - Line, Body, and Engine Type
7th - Body/Transmission Type
8th - Vehicle Grade <---- Does Not Refer to the Vehicle's Education... LOL
9th - Check Digits
10th - Model Year <-------
11th - Plant <------ Not an Agriculture Thing... LOL I don't know where they get this stuff
12th to 17th - Serial Number
Welp Thats All Folks... Hope that Helped.

Thanks, it turns out to be an '88 based on the 10th being a "J" appreciate the quick response!
