The wrist pins are different size. You need a bushing that fits the ls rod and the sohc wrist pin. I believe that need to be shaved so the rod fits he piston.

It almost seems like it would be close to the same $ to buy a set of Eagle Rods as to do the machine work?

earl, you are correct.

You can get the bushings from Crower, like $12 each, then figure another $150-200 to shave, resize, and shot peen the rods.

Can you even use stock pistons with eagle rods?

Eagles can not be used with stock pistons; They are not for press fit applications. They are for free floating applications with circlip-type fastened wristpins.

That's what I always thought. I'm glad you verified that. Don't forget the cost of replacing the stock bolts with ARP's (goes along with the resizing).

To anyone considering this, go with the Eagles. No hassles and a much stronger rod than the LS.

Eagle makes "bushed" rods to use stock pistons, you have to ask for them. Most places don't stock them anyways.

Bushed rods can not be used in press fit applications like stock honda...the bushing will rotate in its bore. The bushing is used in those rods as exactly that- a bushing for the wrist pins to rotate within, stock honda pistons are not compatible with free floating wrist pins setups; DO you mean that eagle offers bushed rods for free-floating applications and non bushed for press-fit, such as honda stock pistons?
