B series swap into 88-91 hatch questions (help needed)
First let me start by saying im in the market to buy a daily driver (88-91 crx) Which means im new to civics (i have a 88 prelude si) Here are my questions for all you experts out there.
1. Any certain year model i should look for when it comes to doin a B series swap?
2. Which motor do you recommend (b16a1,or b18a/b)?
3. Are there any sites that have a "How-to" on doing a b series swap?
4. What should i look for when goin to purchase the car (recalls and stuff like that)
Thanks in advance!!

first off, do a search...people will flame less.
to answer your questions:
1. if you get a civic hatch, get the si, if you get a civic sedan, get the ex, if you get a crx get the hf or the si. all these cars listed have multipoint fuel injection, and it will be soo much easier to do the swap.
2. the swap you will be looking for will be a first gen b16a. look for a swap that has a long block, tranny, and ecu.
3. there are a few out there, try a yahoo or google search. you're going to need new motor mounts, you're going to have to modify your wiring harness (i believe zdyne does a very simple conversion for the si's) and you'll need shift linkage. i'm pretty sure you'll need some other things.
4. look for rust on the rear quarter panels right above the tire. this is one of the worst spots for the ef's/crx's. i'd also look for a 90 or 91 (if you're getting the si) because the seats are soo much nicer. the seats will probably be ripped (they tend to do that) but its common, so dont worry about it too much.
if you need any more help, shoot me an IM, i'd be more than glad to try and help you
