I need an answer quick. My car is in my friends garage waiting to be shaven. On the side moldings, when you weld the metal plates in, how is the doors going to open?? I havent seen it yet but he's telling me that once you weld it, the plates will hit the fenders. there for he said we might need to cut the inside part of the fender where it tucks in. Im going to look at it tomorrow but wanted to know from someone who did this to their 5th gen hatch is this true.???? please write a response soon

ok you havent pissed me off yet so ill try and help you. on the front fender it dents in where the molding went. to get this off get a grinder and grind about 3/4 of and inch off. ill put the way i did it in the steps below.

1.weld on plate
2. open door as far as you can.
3. see where it hits the fender
4. grind that off
5. shut door.
6.done
