Default First real mod to the R... 56k Oh no!!

My Recaro SRDs arrived on Monday and installed them today with help from my Dad. Brackets lined up fine to the body but the lowest setting on the brackets mounted to the sliders hindered the mounting to the body. Some minor Dremel work and they are bolted in no problem. One big complaint... the seat belts are a pain to buckle. Fat thigh bolsters inhibit quick buckling. -shrug-

One comment about not being JDM Recaro's will yield consequences. Point being, my 6'1", 175 lb. frame doesn't fit very well in JDM's.

Now time for

dremel? what did u have to do?
The first cut was to cut the lower mounting hole (highest seat setting) on the slider itself which was the front outer on both sides. You only need to make this cut if you are using the lowest possible setting on the brackets, which is HIGHLY recommend if you want closest to stock height. We did this cut with a hacksaw due to the thickness of the steel on the bracket.

The second cut was to cut the rear inner (passenger side only) mounting hole on the slider. We just used a Dremel to bevel the inside edge of the brackets where it mounts to the floor. Reason being, the washer that is on the bolt to mount to the floor is too big and captive (not removable). You could just hack that lower hole like we did on the above cut with the hacksaw.

The seats look great in the ITR, matches everything perfectly. These Recaros look JDM but come with a USDM price. They costed $450 during the group buy but the seats were only available for that group buy only. Probably will never see these SRD's again.

Wedge rail sucks
My friends store hates to buy from them for applications because so poor quality and workmanship.
Get some quality VISION low position rails.
