So, how do I do it? This is a IMOTO CF hood. There are a lot of marks on the hood from sponsor stickers and what not. I was told that I can just sand it down and just spray black primer on it and send it to the body shop for paint? Any suggestions?

 

You want to paint it or clear coat it?

If you are going to paint it, let them do all the prepping

 

for now, black primer and clear coat is fine.

 

that sounds a little weord. did you want to re-apply the clear and leave it looking carbon, or were you looking into paint matching the hood to match your car color. if you want to match it then it's true that the body shop should do all the prep and paint. even with the clear i would take it to the body shop and have them take out the surface marks on the clear then re-spray the clear and buff it out.

 

First thing I would do is take it to a detail shop...they may be able to polish it out for $15 and 15 minutes of your time.
