had a blast tonight- went to a 2by2.net pyramid scheme rally....
it should be noted that 2by2.net is a 56k internet access provider, that looks to sign people up, and have those people reach other people and expand by word of mouth. (multi level marketing, friend signing up a friend. ) it is similar to a cult with all its representatives drilling into you about how great it all is, and bullshit like that.
ok, so i meet this lady at my work (costco, like sam's club) and she gets all excited about my good attitude, and says she is going to "hook me up." she takes my number and calls me back, saying she wants to introduce me to the people she works with, big successful people, they make a lot of money, blah blah blah. at 5:30 today, she calls me and wants to pick me up and go to a meeting for this company at 7:00. up to this point she has not said anything specific about this business she does, just gives me a bunch of lines about how exciting it all is, make a lot of money, **** like that. understanding this is a scam, i decide to go, but only if i drive myself so that i am not trapped at this place. i talk to my friend who has been to a lot of these kinds of pyramid scam meetings, where they get everybody all hyped up about something, take your money, and you leave with nothing. he informs me that they suck, he would hate to sit through another one, and tells me that i should go, and under no circumstances agree to buy anything. he tells me it would be worth it just for the horror story i would have to tell afterwards.
i went. what a blast. the whole time i was holding back laughter as (3) 2x2.net speakers spewed forward false facts and phony promises to a roomful of gullible people who had been brought there by the person (2x2.net representative) that had introduced them to all this, and unfortunately, was their ride home. so they were all screwed. if they didn't want to sign up, they were in for a shitty ride home to say the least.
the girl that wanted to pick me up and take me there is named Sky. she is from LA. i called her about half an hour before she was to pick me up, and told her that i would go, but i needed to drive myself so that i could get home as soon as possible to finish some work on a car. throughout the whole time at this "rally" all the reps for this company are chiming in and carrying on like it is a southern baptist church. "whooo yeah!" "um humm!!" "that's right!!" you get the point. the whole thing was so staged that it was hilarious to sit through. at one point, a speaker said that X number of dollars was easily within their reach. Sky turns to me and whispers, "what would you do if you had all the money you wanted right now? buy a car?" (me) "no.") "buy a house?" (me)"no.") "what would you buy?" my response: "a warehouse." this blew her mind and i almost laughed in her face. i would love to have a warehouse on a huge plot of land, where i could do/work on/build and store anything i wanted. that is my dream. what is funny about her asking what i would do with the money is that i hear someone else whisper the same thing to their gullible victim. to make this terribly long post short:
it is my opinion that 2by2.net is a scam. if you feel you have the nerve to sit through a 2-3 hour presentation and then refuse to buy a $420 startup kit at the end, i reccomend going to one of their rallies and taking notes. i got 4 pages of hilarious catch phrases like "3D money!" and "Make the right decision today. Do it NOW!"
haha. now i really understand pyramid schemes. it was worth my 3 hours.

lol. did they tell you about there nice lexus but dont mention the fact that its a late 80s model or tell you about all the money they have there GOING TO GET. Or tell you that you were on there top 3 list and that you were perfect for the job. 2by2 is the biggest BS ive ever seen. they just trying to make you there bitch.
Thats weird... How the hell people get so gullible and can't tell when they're being scammed? I heard of "cults" like that before.. is'nt pyramid schemes illegal?
LOL 2by2.net what a friggin joke
talk about a pyramid scheme a few of my buddies joined it and i was like hell no they wanted me to join so they did not feel like shmucks... ha ha i see all those crap cars rolling around with huge ugly 2by2 stickers on them acting like ballaz that they will never be. i feel bad for people that join this stuff actually expecting to make some cash but the only winners are the ones on top that rip everyone off... 2 cts it almost a cult

the sad thing is that when i started this current job at costco a few months ago, i met a girl working there named nonette, she moved out here from frisco to be a part of this "big thing happening in chicago" and she totally believes it. now her sister has moved out here as well to join the whole scam, and they are living with a bunch of other people in a little apartment going nowhere.
it was really entertaining to sit through, these people do a ton of training to get to the point where they hype you all up about it, and cheer on the speaker. the sickest part is, at the end, all in sync, the reps move their chairs in front of you and start trying to get your credit card and sign you up. all in formation, they moved their chairs in front of their victims and start pounding them. within five minutes, a guy right near me had signed up. the look of submission was plastered across his face, he was definitely not as excited as the scammer filling out his forms to sign his life away.
on the plus side, the girl claimed it was her brother's house, and there was a black NSX in the garage. so i got my first chance to sit behind the wheel of an NSX after i clearly explained to her that it was my goal to never sell something to anyone ever again. (as in, meet people, and try to sign them up for shitty internet service on the spot.)

My friend Jade is in a group called Market America. Hes raving how in 3 years hes going to be rollin in dough. Ive been to a couple things, and it seems like if you really put in the work it could work..but odds are stacked against you. This one isnt to bad, its a $70 signup, and you dont have to hold any merchandise..you are basically a middle man for products..Payout is based on BV's or something (points you get for selling an item), and after you get x amount of points in a week you get a check cut, aside from what you make on the profit of the product you sell. You also get equal points of all the people under you...all the way down.
So if jon below you sells 100 points, and sue below him sells 100 points you get 200 points. Like I said...seems to make sense, but I told jade.
When I see you rolling in the cash, I'll sign up..but until then...Ill keep my job

awesome. i went to one of those that sold financial reports to people. about half way through the rep doing the pitch asked me what i thought so far. very, very bad mistake. i stood up and blasted them, telling them it just a pyramid scheme and was borderline illegal, we'd never see our money back, that there weren't enough people out there to sustain these stupid schemes, and finished off by saying i wasn't near stupid enough to sign up with them and walked out of the place with 3 reps trailing men asking why i didn't want to make money. way fun.
to be completely honest, i didn't want to stand up and blast them, as they put me in the front row, and the place was a maze of chairs to get out. even if i wanted to say **** off and walk out the door, it would have been hard to get out. also, they make you take your shoes off at the door! talk about an odd couple of seconds of putting your shoes on in front of all these people!! oh well, i had my butterfly knife in my pocket just in case crazy **** was going to go down. haha!
they have that 2by2.net over here in frisco. the worst part, they've tried to recruit me couple of times, and the people doing the recruiting were my friends. there's a dozen of imports driving around the city with the 2by2 decal on their cars. i feel sorry for them when they know it's a scam and want to take off the decal.
i don't know how you could stand going through it, i would jump up and say it's a scam and punch one member and do a DX chop.

HAHAHA!!! One of my friends tried to get me to do that **** last year at some hotel off of Dempster near 94. The whole thing is a big joke. I signed up with an expired credit card, lol, just to see what they say to you after the smart people who don't want to pay $420 to be in some pyramid scheme. They make you pay for everything, even the little sample discs. It is such a scam. After you pay, all they do is lecture you for another hour about how to get other people to come to the next presentation. I feel sorry for my friend who doesn't realize this is a big scam. Also, why would you still be trying to sell dialup internet access? Everyone is converting to broadband internet now. Why would someone want ghetto 2by2.net service when they could have a big name that they feel more comfortable with for 2 more dollars a month, or can even get netzero or earthlink for like $8 less a month. That whole thing is such a scam, I hope those poor saps don't lose all their money with this scam.
my gf's sisters friend had a 2by2 decal on her new mr2...i asked her what it was and she started giving me the "talk" ...luckly i have and attention span of a 6 yr old
...went in one ear out the other!...hehe...i think my gf's sister actually bought into it too...but its no surprise since shes an airhead

ahahahah....it finally reached the midwest.....i know a bunch of people that join that thing and lost hella money.....i went to one of the meeting and they do a damn good job in brainwashing people......hey....is that guy Duke still giving the speeches or the asian guy with the hot *** black gf?
let's see. first up was "mel." mel seemed a little uncomfortable, but the caffiene pills and black coffee helped that out. he was going a mile a minute. then there was "Garbriella," a rather attrative small breasted light skinned black girl with curly hair. she spoke of being a teacher, then a globe traveling model, and now she is REALLY living the life with 2by2.net! finally, a big fat guy named Mr. Masachino or something like that spoke, also heard the name Dr. Lewis thrown around. a friend and i have come up with some histerical scenario's:
#1: me and blake (friend) walk in during the middle of the last speaker and start yelling about
" we found you, ************! we gave you $5000 back in LA 2 years ago, and never saw a dime come back! we bought all your ****, the discs, everything! give us our money back!"
#2: we dress up as cops. walk in there, handcuff the head speaker while he is talking, and tell him he is going away for fraud, "and it won't be easy like the 6 months you just did at that 'resort' of a minimum security prison in Frisco."
then tell everyone that they need to get out NOW.
#3: drive up to the house with some phony cop lights strapped to the top of a car. start blaring sirens and stuff, then get on the loudspeakers and say: "you are surrounded. you all have 10 seconds to get out of the house. everyone out, with your hands up."
there are soooo many opportunities to **** with these people. i think i am going to go drive past the place and check to see if anyone is there tonight. i will write down the house information for sure, and check to see if i can pull up any information on who is renting it. haha.

first of all.. its not a scam. These scemes are realy smart in how the aproach and introduce the scam. if they never mentioned what they were selling.. then its not solicitation. They always say some **** like.. " wanna make money?" " I'll hook you up" They use very misleading type of questions to which the only asnswer would be "yes" coming out of your mouth.
my friend had it bad.. he was asking me.." where do you see yourself 10 years from now?" and " You have such great potential.. dont short change yourself"
They brainwash him by thinking that B2B business and Etail is the future of shopping. I of course responded by saying things like.. Look at egghead.. got bought out by Outpost.. which got bought by Fry's. What about Peapod? Webvan?

i almost got interested in 2by2...but the people that got me interested all got out of it (yeah, that gave me confidence).
i got into another thing (yes, you could call it a "pyramid"). it is called pre-paid legal (legal insurace). i made all my money back ($150 signup as opposed to the $420 at 2by2) and made about 600 for my pocket. i don't do it anymore because i moved to an area where it isn't poppin. pre-paid legal is REAL though, in case any of you have heard of it. it works for most people if you put time into it, and is hella easy. by the way, i'm not trying to solicit anything....just my 2 cents.

Wow, I really wanna go to one of these things. Do they have an open bar or anything? Now THAT would be awesome, I'd do some free pregaming at pyramid scheme meetings then go hit the bars. Anyone in MD that knows about this stuff? I'd really like to go for a laugh...
