Default B & M short shifter

Already did a search and nothing came up for this brand. Anyone use this with a b16(shouldn't really matter). It says that it comes with new bushings as well, can anyone explain what that means. I heard this brand is the best out there.

There are 2 types of B&M shifters. The cheap style comes with crappy bushings, the better style is one of the best short shifters out there I've been told.

However, I don't like short shifters. They destroy synchros. Just practice with a normal shifter.

How would a short shifter destroy syncros? Would that be driver error? A short shifter is designed the shorten the length of the throw. Someone please tell me how, Because I am looking into buying a B&M and I have never heard that before.

you are correct that it is driver error that destroys syncros, but the short shifter makes it easier to not fully disengage the clutch while shifting because you are going so much faster (and less precise)...

Apparently, most people who get short shifters don't really utilize the shortened legnth of the throw.
......maybe you can, but I would get some polyurethane bushings first and see if you are content with that. My car had ~130k when I put them on and there was a big difference. The shifts don't feel as spongy when putting in gears.

and I believe B&m are one of the better shifters out there.

Nice name, 90-CRXSi.

well I had the B&M 'edge' and loved it. I put it on around 123K and sold the car @132K and never ran into any tranny probs. Prolly was the cheap model 'cause I got it for 45 shipped off of groupbuycenter.com. F.Y.I you need to cut the exhaust heat shield or it won't go into 5th/reverse.

I have the B&M, don't know which one, but I really like it. I think the syncros will be fine if you dont wrench on the shifter like some people, just be nice to it. With the kit comes everything to change the shifter, including grease and these little rubber donuts. I think it was a worthwile investment.

i have driven with both the B&M shifter installed and with just urethane bushings, as well as the "bitch pin" replaced. and the ***** with the B&M actually took longer as the shifts were notchy, and hard to get in gear, the shifter was much lower than my comfort zone. i really like what urethane bushings and the shifter assembly retaining pin did to my rex.

From my experience It has been that I tend to miss more shifts with the short shifters too, ive tried them all - DC Sports, Skunk2, Z.Speed, OBX, etc... and they all have the same results in that I would miss shifts occasionally. The stock shifter with a set of poly bushings is what im sticking to in my CRX, it feels great and honestly its not so long of a throw in that im wishing i had a short shifter to shift faster. I cringed everytime i was in my hatch and i would look at the vafc after a missed shift only to see 9100 RPM blaring me in the face (the tranny had a bad 3rd gear synchro that would cause me to miss it alot!)

Which set of Energy Suspension stabilizer bushings would I get with the HaSport shift linkage? They sell one for 1)84-87 Civic/CRX, 90-98 Integra or 2)88-98 Civic, CRX, Delsol. They sell for only 10 bucks in summit, are these the ones that you guys are refferring to. What exactly do they replace? I think I will start with these.

Ive got the b and m edge shifter in my crx.....it gave you an entirely new shifter bushing....and washer/bushings...

the throw is short...tight...and I rarely miss a gear.....I dont know what some of these other guys problems are but for 65 bucks it was a damn good investment..

The kit I am looking at is 140 bucks. Does that include new bushings connecting the shift linkage to the bottom of the shifter. Whats the difference between the $60 one and the $140 one.
