ITR with 4 Lug!!!! which struts do i get???
so i got this Type R. which has a salvage title. i got stolen before and those damn ppl took out the engine, seats, and now i learned that the they took out my 5 lug and replaced it with a 4 lug one....damn thieves...anyways this is how the car came when i got it....
so here is my question, since i have a 98 Type R with 4 lug unit, which shocks/struts am i supposed to use? i noticed that Type R's and non-Type R's use different types of shocks/struts....i dun wanna have to end up buying the wrong ones and ending up wasting my money....any clues? help! really appreciate it....

the difference in the ITR vs non-ITR shocks is in the rear LCA.. which they may or may not have changed. Go look and tell us how your rear shocks attach to the LCA.. does the shock have a "fork" or is in in the middle of the LCA inside of it sorta..
edit: used the wrong word in there. doh.

look at the rear lower control arm either it looks like this
which is a type r rear lower control arm. or it is a casted solid piece with a bushing refer to a civic/integra which have em. the rears are the only difference. either u have to use a type r one or an integra one.

What rims are on the car?
The why: I'm wondering if it's 4x100 or 4x114 they gave you. Probably 4x100.

I would look at what you could change with aftermarket, you might find you like the advantage of 4 lug if you do drag racing.
i didnt have the time to check it out yet, but thanks a lot for the help! still abit confused, but will try and figure it out...
btw, for those who have 4 lugs, wat which after market struts do u then use? just making sure, Type R's all came with 5 lugs rite???

Yes, all ITRs came with 5 lug. 4 lug stock brakes suck
The front shocks mounting design is the same for all '94 - '01 Integra's. The only difference in the shocks b/w the ITR's and the "other" Integra's are the dampening characteristics...strictly an internal issue. The point is that they all mount the same way and are all interchangeable.
However, the rear shocks mount differently b/w the ITR's and the "other" Integra's. The ITR shocks require ITR rear lower control arms (as seen in the picture above). The non-ITR Integra's use a fork-type shock that mates to a unique rear LCA.
If you would like to have the ITR suspension, I've got a pair or ITR rear LCA's, a spare pair of complete front shocks, and a set of kg/mm DR Race springs that you can buy. Install's on me. Need to find a pair of complete rear ITR shocks tho.
Altho, from a wider perspective, I'd still much rather have the stock ITR 5-lug suspension for the bigger brakes and stiffer bushings.
If you absolutely have to know, drive the car over (~1 hour) and I can tell you in 5 seconds everything you want to know.

whats the reason for changing to 4 lugs vs 5 lugs on itrs??
15 inch rims only
BIG brakes.

huh? he's asking why ITR owners are changing to 4 lug setups.. which are smaller brakes.. and 15"s fit on either..

15 inch Slicks is the smallest size that can fit on the ITR 5 lug
the ITR brakes are too big to use in drag racing.
