I saw this thread a few months ago, but never tried it. I wonder if the 4th Gens have that same brace? My Lude has had this shock knock problem since I bought it a year ago and it gets worse when the weather is cold. I will definitely have to try this over Christmas break.

 

ya, i don't know if our 4th gen has it either, but i'm gonna try it soon too anyways! After i rip all the **** out of there, i'm gonna put some foam or other damping mat anyways just to reduce interior noise!

I have a 98 and I don't notice the sound. Weird, maybe I'll listen more carefully.

 

I have aftermarket springs and shocks and the knock is still there.

 

I just installed the tein ss...and on the right rear i hear this kinda loud clunk when i go really slow over a bump, usually only happens in the morning though, when i first drive it for the day...from my last post...i was told it's probably the collar on the rubber mount...but i'm also gonna try this mod to quiet the bumps too, makes sense to me!
