Ok I have over 150 drag passes (did I mention I launch at 7,000rpms?) and many auto-x runs on my stock clutch which now has over 50,000mi. I know it is weakening but it is still holding on for the most part. Well I'm thinking of getting a new flywheel and clutch this Christmas and just keeping it handy for when ole trusty finally bites the dust. Can I just get an aftermarket disk and use the stock pressure plate? I don't plan on making alot of power and the stock clutch has been awesome IMO. Should I be worried about the pressure plate and will most aftermarket disks work with it? Any opinions would be appreciated.
The stronger the pressure plate, the more power you will be able to hold. With a fairly stock motor, the stock pp should be fine. Just a new disc would be OK, but you mine as well just get a new setup from Exedy or Action. As far as flywheels, spoon, toda, comptech, or lightened stock one would be OK.
