Well it was a DC CC header, although I think the Tanabe G-Power Medallion was hurting up top...since I have a cutout thing but the motor is done...

That's what dynapack dynos say...it says SAE Hp on the scale

For comparison...my buddy with a jdm h22, home depot intake, open greddy header, vafc, fpr, clutchnet clutch, jun flywheel just laid down 197/164 . That just goes to show you how you CAN hit 200whp with just bolt-ons....at least with a jdm motor

what are the two curves on each side? tuned and untuned? and why do dynapack dynos say "flywheel hp?" is there some built in correction factor it determines by measuring the "road hp" as well, like the old days?

I'm not sure why it says flywheel, the HP scale is in SAE...no idea.

But the two curves are untuned and tuned. So all the gain there was through ecu tuning, which makes me wonder what the hell was wrong with my baseline..oh well.

I am not sure if that is directed to me or not, But my engine has well over 20K on it. BTW, this is a 2.44ltr not a 2.6

2point6: That dyno plot is absolutely beautiful!! That's about as perfect as it gets. The torque is flat as a board (150lbft+ @2000rpm! ). The power curve has no sinkholes, and your A/F is flawless!

It looks like you put a lot of well-spent time and money into tuning. Did you tune it all yourself?

Is this motor still running? How many miles on this build?

Andrew

On one of my other sheets, we were able to get the dip (at the vtec crossover) to dissapear, But I can't find the sheet. For the tuning, we really spent very little time on it. I guess we were lucky. The tuning consisted of 1 cam adjustment which was a rough adjustment and minor VAFC adjustments. I guess we got lucky that day. Since then, I have added the SMSP header and a Euro R manifold so the tuning is most likely "whacked" right now. I hope to have it to the Dyno next week, but I have been saying that "I hope to get to the dyno" for a month now. Holiday season sucks.

And for your info, 2point6 used to have a DC SPorts header that got him extra 2 horses, now with the SMSP header, type R intake ( I've seen it in person and it looked very nice) and the 68 mm throttle body, I won't be surprise to see this beast to hit 240+ at the wheel.

While we're at 200+ hp prelude, 2point6 is building my H22 as well, it has quite a few nice mods suggested and being done by him. It is a complete H22, and hopefully and very likely it will be around 200 whp. I will also post it when I get it dyno. Thanks to Scott!!!

becuase that dynopack software computes and corrects for flywheel hp, not whp.

SAE stands for "Standard American Equivalent", since HP is an American measurement of power. most other countries who didnt follow the SAE HP ratings used Newton Metres, PS (in japan), or Watts.

Hahahhaha...are you serious? You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about!

SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers

-Power is corrected to reference conditions of 29.23 InHg (99 kPa) of dry air and 77 F (25°C). This SAE standard requires a correction for friction torque. Friction torque can be determined by measurements on special motoring dynamometers (which is only practical in research environments) or can be estimated. When estimates must be used, the SAE standard uses a default Mechanical Efficiency (ME) value of 85%. This is approximately correct at peak torque but not at other engine operating speeds. Some dynamometer systems use the SAE correction factor for atmospheric conditions but do not take mechanical efficiency into consideration at all (i.e. they assume a ME of 100%).

So given your remarkable defintion of SAE, I'm curious as to what makes you think you know anything about a Dynapack Dyno?

I could not agree more. That is an amazing plot. Torque curves don't get much flatter, and it's smooth as hell. Job well done.

Just so people know, I did not post my dyno to "one up" satan srv, but thankyou for all the nice comments. This was mostly intended to show the potential of 2 different stroker set-ups. His set-up was a really nice one. Prospeed is another individual (shop) who has built stroker similar to satan srv's and made similar power to mine.

Yeah it's cool...your motor cost a lot more than mine did. And on top of that, it isn't my setup anymore so no worries...
