Home-Made Strobes?
Anyone know any good how to's on making your own strobe lights? I was looking at the radio shack catalog and the strobe tube and trigger coil add up to 4.48, + 10 bucks max for the other crap is pretty cheap for a DIY project and you get to learn stuff while you're at it.
If you know of any good tutorials, please post a link.

Ive got the stuff for the angel eyes sitting on my desk downstairs, i need to figure out a way to mount them.
Once again, Im more interested in learnning to **** around with electronics rather than just buy the built crap.

If you want to learn, purchase a book on electronics. You'd be surprise how much you can learn from a book.
Trying to make one yourself is like hunting squirrels with a 50 Megaton Nuclear bomb, sure it'll kill the squirrels, but it isn't very efficient/smart.
There are plenty of strobe lights kits manfacturers out there, just pick up one for $10 and tear it apart and look at it if you're so intent on making one yourself.
Good Luck,
Len

. If you want a quick run-through, borrow a high school kid's physics book and run through the chapter on electricity. Triangles are ground, three lines stacked vertically with a taper from top to bottom is a capacitor, squiggly lines are resistors, black dots are soldered connections, white dots are power sources (I think). That's what I remember from high school: I'm a sophomore English major in college now, so you may want to punch circuitry and electricity into a google search and confirm it.Props to wanting to learn for yourself...I dunno about the application, but it's your car and I don't really mind lighting effects like most of the angry people on this board
