does rubbing alcohol do the trick when taking off the oil of urathane kits?
Are you attepmting to paint it? I was talking to a guy at my local paint shop today and were were on the Urathane BK topic. He said that there is a solution you put on there that opens up the pores temporarily so the paint can be applied. It also removed the oil. Damn I forget what it is called.

there is something that SEM makes, its called plastic prep....used for poleurethanes and plastics, vinyl too! it opens up the pores...
yes, use plastic prep... some companies offer a two step cleaner......cleaner, and sealer to lock the pores. go to your local bodyshop supplier and pick up a product called "BullDog" the one i've used can be sprayed by itself to the bumper as an adhesion promoter, as well as be mixed into certain types of paint to act as a flex additive.

there is also another thing that will work that you can use, its a lil cheaper by 1.00 or so..its SEM sand free.......use the plastic prep first to soften up the urethane and then sand free.....
BTW, DO NOT EVER use sand paper to prep plastics or urethanes....<<<I dont know why, but the pro painters said not to...lol
right, never sand these bumpers unless you really have to. the reason not to sand: the sand scratches make it more complicated to clean with plastic prep....and sanding can leave "feathers" of plastic sticking out and can show up in paint. if sanding should ever be done, always sand with 600grit or finer.
