Default Jus finish installing a chip ignition switch on my it-r

i just finish installing a transpoder ignition switch key on my car today, like the 2001 itr car have.. since mines its a 98 and it doesn;t come with it.. maybe it would stop the thieves from trying to steal my ITR

is it aftermarket or did you use one from a 00-01 R? Also, just FYI the 00-01 have the immobilizer system built into the ignition *AND* ECU. so even if someone pops the hood and puts a screwdriver to the starter motor, the car still won't run 'cause of the ECU.

i bought the whole system from the junkyard from a 00 gsr, and i just installed it on my ITR. i got everything with key and everythign for only $150 including ecu.. pretty decent price i guess.. i just gotta change the plug for the brakes since the plug for the brakes its a little different

So are you running a GS-R ECU?

How come the immobilizer uses the brake switch?
