what's the best tranny for a 3rd gen prelude w/ b20a5 ?
posting for a friend who owns a lude that we did a swap in and now needs a new tranny but he doesn't know exactly which one has the better gearing. All else fails I guess we will just find another S tranny for it....
Thanx,

The 90/91 Prelude trannys have a shorter gear ratio. Thus, they'll allow a slight acceleration advantage over the 88/89. However, the 90/91 also top out much earlier. They are geared to about 133, while the 88/89 should top out at 137 (assuming you have the power to punch the aerodynamic drag).
Edit: With the 90/91 tranny, you'll aslo need the fly/PP/clutch too...

yeah my 91 is geared low, great 2nd and 3rd just tops out at 135, and after 110 bone stock takes a while to get to 135, my brother has a 77 280z, we took off down highway, i couldnt pass him but he couldnt leave me, and thats an inline six, so i was pleased
